Preeti felt sore all over. Sitting in the same position for long hours did that to her. She rubbed the back of her neck, as she waited for the flying envelope to reach the end of the screen. After what seemed like an endless wait, during which only the sounds of her breathing and the whirr of the computer could be heard, the words “Mail sent” flashed on the screen. Finally!
She quickly typed out a message on her phone and pressed Send. Almost instantaneously her phone buzzed, indicating a reply. “yes, mommy…all homework by myself… now can I have pizza today please.I am hungry come soon”
That makes it two of us, she thought as she typed back a hurried reply.
She got up from her desk and stretched her aching muscles. The presentation was exactly as per the client’s specifications, she thought, pleased with her efforts. Stifling a yawn, she grabbed her purse as she glanced out the window. Outside the lights shone against the black night, mirroring the twinkling stars in the sky.
“Have a good night!” said the brightly lit hoarding of a mattress brand.
Smilingly, she flicked off the light switch and walked out with a bounce in her step.

Posted at 11:49h, 18 January😀 The one you can have any time of the day? Esp. at breakfast with a generous dollop of butter; accompanied with a cup of tea. 😀
