19 Apr Story Continuation Challenge Prompt 7

With Camp NaNoWriMo in full swing and my Sikkim travel tales, the Story Continuation Challenge got second rate treatment, unfortunately.

But here it is , with another interesting prompt this week. But first, over to last week’s stories.

I loved the stories that came in last week. Let me repeat that. Absolutely, loved them!

With such a depressing prompt, I hadn’t expected such a variety of responses. You continue to surprise me, week after week.

Rashmi’s story scared me off while Ms. Sassy’s made me laugh. Susan’s romantic story made me all dreamy eyed while Lisa’s beautiful story was sad and emotional. Sonali’s story made me smile and proved how love can be in different forms.
Mandi wrote a beautiful story on her blog about how true love can stand the test of time and distance. If you haven’t already read the story, you can visit her blog here and read it now.

My personal favourite was May J’s take on a father’s love for his little girl. It could be because I’ve written stories on domestic violence too and have a very strong stand on the social evil.

Over to this week’s prompt –

The harried woman looked at me, aggravatedly. I couldn’t care less.

Challenge Rules –

• Please complete the story in a maximum of 3 sentences (the first line is the prompt, so you have the freedom to write either 1 or 2 lines more.)

Prompt 7 Rules –

• The story has to be in first person narrative.
• Additional challenge – The harried woman in the story is the antagonist (and not the victim.)

My story is  –

The harried woman looked at me aggravated. I couldn’t care less.
Sad she couldn’t see the agony of the man in tattered clothes and torn shoes, whom she had shouted at a few minutes earlier.
Dressed up in my best corporate attire, I picked up the coffee she set on the counter and glared at her; daring her to speak to me the same way.
