The Road Ahead

When I first started this blog, it was only a testing platform for me to gauge my writing skills. I also wanted to use it as a platform to showcase my write-ups as samples, while pitching to prospective clients.

I hadn’t ever expected the response it got. Neither had I expected the paths it would lead me on. The journey (2 years now) has been incredible and the experiences chronicled in detail.

It opened some great avenues for me and has been the runway from where my writing took off. Obviously, I am humbled and thrilled every time I think about how far I have come.

I often go back to questioning myself about why I started this blog, and what I hope to achieve from it. This keeps me on the right track, even though I often change my blogging goals from time to time. From writing nonsensical stuff and (supposedly) thought-provoking articles and personal experiences to trying my hand at fiction to writing personal rants, and now book reviews, it has been a learning curve with each post. (Do check these out if you haven’t read them already.)

I completed two years earlier this month, and have been contemplating overhauling my blog completely.

No longer is it the testing platform for my short stories (although you can read them anytime) or articles (will still continue writing them anyway). No longer is it the place where I put out pieces wondering whether anyone would read them or not.

The immense love, following, feedback, that is so needed for a writer, continues to flow my way. (Thank you for that!) And so, I leave behind the self-doubts and the lack of confidence in my abilities. It is time to soar higher. It is time to do more.

Some of this ‘more‘ has already started. Come December, and I start a new Blogging Project with my blogging mentor ‘Blogchatter‘.

My recent CELTA certification is one of the steps in that direction. I plan to pursue teaching creative writing and English language. (My previous aspirations of making this blog a travel blog still remain, and I eventually hope to be able to pursue both, travelling and teaching, simultaneously.) Additionally, I also plan to put out more book reviews, and host more guest bloggers (hopefully!)

The transition from a ‘confused’ blog to a professional niche blog has begun.

The first of those (long due) changes was the new look. More would be made in the days to come. Do check it out and let me know what you think of it.

Wish me luck in this new phase. And, stay with me on the journey as I explore unchartered territories.

I started this blog because family and friends convinced me to. I did not know where it would take me. But I wrote some incredible. I began to understand that I knew more about my “niche” than I thought I did. In almost two years, gained a little over 400 followers. I never thought about the journey blogging would take and I love my faithful followers

I am currently trying to get 500 followers by the end of this year, but realized that is not going to work out so I expanded the goal to the end of the school year
